This year, ICCS and IV can finally offer you the chance to go on a study tour to a European country. After two years of break due to the pandemic, the longtime planned study tour to Christian schools in the Netherlands will take place this September.

During spring this year, we hoped that it would be possible to organize the study trip for school leaders to The Netherlands for September 2021. But unfortunately, there is still so much uncertainty about the pandemic that we have decided to postpone the trip. However, we hope (and expect) that the situation will be back to normal in springtime 2022, so we can organize the study trip then. As soon as we have new information about dates and programme, it will be published in the newsletter.
Im Frühjahr dieses Jahres hatten wir gehofft, dass es möglich sein würde, die Studienreise für Schulleitungen in die Niederlande für September 2021 zu organisieren. Aber leider besteht auch weiterhin so viel Unsicherheit bezüglich der Pandemie, dass wir beschlossen haben, die Reise erneut zu verschieben. Wir hoffen (und erwarten) jedoch, dass sich die Situation im Frühjahr 2022 wieder normalisiert hat, so dass wir die Studienreise dann anbieten können. Sobald wir neue Informationen zu Terminen und Programm haben, werden wir Sie im Newsletter informieren.

On this year’s Europe day, the 9th May 2021, the Conference on the Future of Europe was launched. It is a new format to enable European citizens to share their expectations regarding the EU. A multilingual digital platform collects contributions, shares information and acts as interactive tool to exchange ideas and content. In addition to that, there will be a series of national and European citizens’ panels with randomly chosen participants who are to represent the social variety of the EU.
The conference is a one-year process and is co-chaired by all three European institutions – the European Parliament, the Council and the European Commission. The results will be collected and published in spring 2022.
The multilingual digital platform can be found at futureu.europa.eu, each citizen can use it in his or her own language after having registered.
Diese Konferenz ist ein neues Format, mit dem europäische Bürgerinnen und Bürger die Möglichkeit erhalten, ihre Erwartungen an die Europäische Union vorzutragen. Eine mehrsprachige digitale Plattform ist die zentrale Sammelstelle für Beiträge und Informationen und zugleich ein interaktives Instrument für den Austausch von Ideen und Inhalten. Daneben gibt es nationale und europäische Bürgerforen, deren Teilnehmender nach dem Zufallsprinzip ausgewählt werden und die die gesellschaftliche Vielfalt der EU abbilden sollen.
Der Prozess ist auf ein Jahr angelegt und wird von allen drei europäischen Organen – dem Europäischen Parlament, dem Rat und der Europäischen Kommission – gemeinsam moderiert. Im Frühjahr 2022 werden die Ergebnisse zusammengeführt und veröffentlicht.
Die mehrsprachige digitale Plattform ist unter futureu.europa.eu zu finden und kann nach persönlicher Anmeldung von jedem in der Landessprache genutzt werden.

Im Rahmen des Ökumenischen Kirchentages in Deutschland fand am 13. Mai ein Online-Event mit europäischen Kirchenführern Kirchenleitenden statt. Veranstaltet wurde es vom Verein “European Christian Convention” (ECC), der sich zum Ziel gesetzt hat, in einigen Jahren ein großes europäisches Christentreffen zu veranstalten. Der IV ist Mitglied bei ECC. Gesprächsteilnehmer des Webinars waren Kardinal Jean-Claude Hollerich, Präsident der Kommission der Katholischen Bischofskonferenzen in der EU (COMECE), Pfarrer Christian Krieger, Präsident der Konferenz Europäischer Kirchen (KEK), und Vater Radu Constantin Miron, Vorsitzender der Arbeitsgemeinschaft Christlicher Kirchen in Deutschland (ACK).

An online event with European church leaders took place on 13th May on the occasion of the German Ecumenical Kirchentag. It was organiszed by the European Christian Convention (ECC), which aims to prepare a large-scale gathering of Christians in Europe in a few years. IV is a member of ECC. The webinar took place with the participation of Cardinal Jean-Claude Hollerich, President of the Commission of the Bishops’ Conferences of the EU (COMECE), Rev. Christian Krieger, President of the Conference of European Churches (CEC), and Father Radu Constantin Miron, Chair of the National Council of Christian Churches in Germany (ACK).
